Orlando Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck by Three Separate Vehicles
Authorities with the Florida Highway Patrol operating within Orange County are currently investigating the death of a pedestrian after they were struck by three different vehicles on South Orange Blossom Trail earlier this morning.
Although several details surrounding this fatal pedestrian accident have yet to be determined, troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol have indicated that it was approximately 2:25 a.m. on September 8, 2022, when the incident occurred. Crash reports state that one individual, who has yet to be identified, was walking near the intersection of South Orange Blossom Trail close to Premier Row. At some point, they decided to cross the street at a spot that is not designated for pedestrian traffic and they were struck by an oncoming vehicle that fled the scene of the crash immediately after it took place.
An undetermined amount of time later, a 26-year-old man from Orlando who was driving a Ford F-150 entered the area and also struck the pedestrian, who was laying in the road from the first collision. The driver of the Ford pickup pulled his vehicle over to the side of the street and remained there until emergency responders arrived, however, while he was waiting, a third vehicle ran over the injured pedestrian and also drove off afterwards.
Orange County medical rescue teams arrived at the scene of the serious hit-and-run pedestrian accident and quickly stabilized the badly injured victim for transport to the nearest hospital. They were taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center but were unable to survive the severity of their injuries and died a short time after arriving at the medical facility.
The 26-year-old Orlando driver is said to have been in full cooperation with the investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. The two other drivers who were involved in this fatal accident have not been identified.
