Two Injured When Kia Crashes into Titusville Funeral Home

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on February 24, 2021

Police in Titusville are currently involved in an investigation into a crash involving a single vehicle and a funeral home that took place on the morning of Saturday, February 20th. Reports from the Titusville Police Department indicated that the incident happened sometime close to 2:00 in the morning, while the car, a red Kia, was being driven down the 1400 block of Norwood Avenue.

No one was awake in the area to witness the crash itself, so what we know is being pieced together from the preliminary investigation into the incident. This investigation rests largely on an examination of the crash site.

From the reports so far, the police were notified about the crash shortly after it took place. When they arrived, they found the red Kia with two passengers still within the vehicle. The car was lodged fairly deep in the building’s interior, a situation that resulted only after the car crashed through the wall previously holding the front entrance. Based on the crash site, the belief is that the driver of the vehicle lost control while traveling down Norwood Avenue. Before they were able to regain control of the vehicle, the car left the roadway and hurtled towards the empty funeral home. When it hit the front door, it smashed through to the funeral parlor’s front hallway. Still traveling at a high rate of speed, the car then crashed through a second wall inside of the building, coming to rest after this collision. The reports indicated that the car was lying on top of numerous pieces of furniture when it finally stopped moving.

Paramedics and EMTs were among the first responders to the accident, and they treated two people that were inside of the vehicle at the time of the crash. Both of these people were taken from the crash site to a nearby hospital where they were being treated for injuries.

An investigation into the accident remains ongoing as authorities with the Titusville Police Department search for an explanation behind the violent and nearly fatal accident. It is extremely fortunate that no one was inside of the building at the time.
