Driver Ejected and Run Over on Osceola County Stretch of I-4

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on December 12, 2020

A car crash that occurred within Osceola County in the early days of December was responsible for the untimely death of a single individual. Reports from the Florida Highway Patrol stated that it was early in the morning on Monday, December 7th, when a vehicle was traveling down Interstate 4, close to World Drive and the city of Celebration, when something happened to cause them to lose control of their vehicle. The reports made clear that the reasons for this loss of control remain an object of speculation, making it of central importance to the ongoing investigation into the crash and its aftermath.

It was close to 4:30 a.m. when the driver in question suddenly lost control of their car. Before they were able to correct the situation, the vehicle slammed into a guardrail with enough force to cause it to flip. The driver of this car was, unfortunately, not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. This, combined with the force of the crash and the overturning car, caused the driver to be fully ejected from their vehicle and into the eastern travel lanes of the busy highway.

Even though it was extremely early, numerous vehicles were still traveling along the roadway. The Florida Highway Patrol said, in their official statement, that it is believed several of these other vehicles struck the ejected driver. Not all of these other drivers stopped after striking the victim, but the officials are saying that this is likely due to the fact that other drivers were not aware of having run someone over. The likelihood of this remains dubious, however it is the perspective taken by the official law enforcement organization and will thus color the investigation and its outcome.

The injuries sustained by the ejected motorist resulted in their death at the scene of the crash.

At the time of this writing, the authorities are asking anyone who may have observed the crash to contact law enforcement officials as soon as possible. There is great hope that witnesses to the incident might manage to provide the investigating authorities with crucial pieces of information that remain missing at the present moment.
