Driver in Winter Garden Crashes After Dangerous Curve in Roadway
Winter Garden Police are involved in an ongoing investigation into a collision that happened during the first week of December and involved a single vehicle. The last reports from this law enforcement organization indicates that the car accident took place on the morning of Monday, December 7th. No one was present to witness the accident when it happened, and the exact time of the collision remains an object of some speculation. We do know that it happened before 11:30 in the morning, an important fact as the authorities attempt to put all of the pieces of the incident into their correct places so that the case can be fully closed.
Shortly before the accident took place, a 20-something-year-old person was on their way to work and traveling down Avalon Road when they reached a somewhat dangerous area of the road that makes a sharp curve. Before reaching this curve, it is customary for drivers to slow their vehicles down a fair amount. If they fail to do so, the curve can quickly become too sharp and cause a driver to cross over the center line or, in an attempt to prevent this from happening, lose control of the vehicle via overcompensation. On the Monday in question, it appears that slowing down is exactly what our young driver failed to do.
When the driver reached the curve, so say the reports, they did not manage to slow their vehicle down as much as is needed and, as a result, they lost control of their vehicle. The car then shot off of the roadway and onto the road’s shoulder. Before the driver could regain control, the car struck a tree.
After the wreck was reported, police and emergency response crews rushed to the area to offer aid to the motorist as well as to direct traffic through the area. When these crews arrived, they found that the driver of the car was still alive, although badly injured. The car, on the other hand, was completely totaled.
The driver was transported from the scene of the crash to a nearby medical facility where they were still being treated for their injuries at the time of this writing.
While the investigation remains ongoing, the police have indicated that they ruled out both alcohol and drugs as contributing factors in the wreck.
