Teen Killed in Ocoee Car Crash

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on March 31, 2016

In an unfortunate car accident on the morning of Monday, February 8th, 2016, a teen driver was killed in his hometown of Ocoee. The accident occurred around 3:08 a.m. near Wesmere Parkway on Roberson Road, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash. It is uncertain whether there were any witnesses on the scene at the time the incident occurred.

The driver and victim of the crash, 18-year-old Jonathan Riley, was heading eastbound on Roberson Road when his vehicle left the roadway or reasons that are yet unknown to investigators. After leaving the road, reports stated that Riley’s vehicle first struck a power pole, then hit a tree before it finally flipped over. It was not disclosed which event actually led to Riley’s death, or at what time the death occurred.

Florida Highway Patrol officers are still investigating the incident, but they have stated that they do not believe Riley was under the influence of any alcohol at the time of the crash. They also indicated that no other individuals were involved in the crash. As of press time, no other details had been determined for public release. Authorities are expected to continue investigating the reasons Riley’s vehicle may have left the roadway, and have not yet ruled out possibilities such as distracted driving or medical emergency.
