Orange County Car Crash Results in Fires, Hospitalization, and Fatality
A violent collision between two vehicles in Orange County resulted in one fatality, one hospitalization, and two cars burning throughout the afternoon of Friday, July 19th. Reports from the Orange County Fire Rescue crew that responded to the incident indicated that the crash took place along Goldenrod Road, close to the intersection between Goldenrod and Curry Ford Road, sometime close to 3:30 in the afternoon.
One of the vehicles involved was a car, the other a pickup truck. It is not known if these two vehicles were traveling in the same direction, or in opposite directions. It is also possible that one of the vehicles was attempting to turn across traffic in order to access Curry Ford Road or that one of the vehicles was turning from Curry Ford Road onto Goldenrod Road. Either way, the two vehicles were suddenly locked in a collision course that neither of the drivers were able to adjust.
As mentioned above, the crash itself happened close to 3:30 in the afternoon. As a result, the forcefulness with which the collision took place, both of the cars were completely immobilized. The driver of the car also sustained severe injuries that, it seems, resulted in their death at the scene of the accident. The name of this person was not released in the initial report, and at the time of this writing it is not clear if the driver of the car was identified by the emergency response crews who reached the area first or if the victim remained unidentified for a longer stretch of time.
Inside of the pickup truck were at least four individuals. One of these people was badly injured in the crash and wound up being rushed from the area of the collision to a nearby hospital. The condition of this individual is currently not known. The other three people within the pickup truck were able to free themselves from the vehicle following the incident. It is believed that these three remained relatively unscathed from the crash, although it is not known if they suffered from minor injuries or if they were not injured at all.
An investigation into the incident remains underway. It is not known if any charges are pending.
