Man Killed at Walt Disney World Speedway

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on April 29, 2015

In early April, a man was killed in a car accident at the Exotic Driving Experience at the Walt Disney World Speedway. The man, who was a passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver was taken to Celebration Hospital for minor injuries.

According to police, the driver lost control of the Lamborghini he was driving, and ran into a guardrail. The passenger who was killed had worked at Walt Disney World Speedway since 2001, and had been the operations manager for the Exotic Driving Experience, which offers high-speed rides around the racetrack in NASCAR vehicles or performance cars, since 2013.

Police said both men involved in the crash were wearing seatbelts. This is a reminder that no matter how careful we are, accidents can happen, even in places designated for high speeds and advertised as safe.

Disney World spends lots of money on safety equipment and inspections, and announced in February that the Speedway would shut down this summer. Still, accidents happen, and when they do, you need to be prepared. If you or someone you know has been involved in an amusement park accident, you should speak with a lawyer about your rights. Attorney James O. Cunningham has been working with amusement park accident victims for more than 30 years, and can help you receive the compensation and closure you deserve after an accident.

As an Orlando based lawyer, Mr. Cunningham has extensive experience working with theme park and Disney World accident victims. For three decades, he has been working with families to help them receive compensation for injuries, death of a loved one, loss of wages, rehabilitation, loss of spousal support, and more. Amusement parks have lots of money and good lawyers, so it can be hard to fight them on your own. You need someone with experience, and someone local.

Amusement parks like Disney World are huge tourist attractions, and if you’re a tourist and involved in an accident it can be even more stressful, as you’ll be dealing with out of state laws and doctors. The Law Offices of James O. Cunningham will work with you to understand your rights in Florida, and will recommend doctors and specialists if needed.
