Brevard County Man Dies in Single Car Crash

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on September 20, 2019

A collision between a car and a utility pole within Brevard County during the early days of September is behind the death of a 33-year-old individual. It is believed that the incident took place on Monday, September 2nd, sometime during the morning (although the precise time has yet to be stated). What we know so far comes from reports filed by the Florida Highway Patrol stationed within Brevard County. Their reports indicated that the incident began with the 33-year-old, a Brevard County resident who was living in Cape Canaveral, was traveling along the northbound lanes of U.S. 1 close to Rocket Road.

It is not clear if other cars were near the 33-year-old and their vehicle or if the crash was witnessed by anyone else on the roadway, but the reports from the Florida Highway Patrol indicated that the 33-year-old was the only person involved in the collision. The crash itself took place after the driver of the car somehow lost control of their vehicle, a circumstance which resulted in the car departing from the roadway. It is possible that the loss of control occurred for several reasons, although some of the most common include medical emergencies suffered by drivers, poorly maintained roadways, animals attempting to cross the road, driver drowsiness, and/or intoxication. At the time of this writing it is not known if the police investigating the incident are exploring the possibility of these various factors or if there is a primary theory with which they are working to explain the single-car crash.

While the reports failed to state whether or not there were any witnesses to the incident, somehow, other emergency response crews were notified regarding the crash and rushed to the scene in order to try and assist the 33-year-old driver. It is believed that the EMTs and paramedics did everything that they could but that the severity of the injuries suffered by the driver was far too great and that the medical teams were forced to pronounce the driver dead at the scene of the crash.

It is not currently known whether or not the investigation into the incident has reached a conclusion or if it remains ongoing.
