Two-Car Crash Results in Fatality in Seminole County

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on February 29, 2020

An accident on Thursday, February 27th, that took place within Seminole County, is believed to have caused the death of at least one individual, say troopers working within the area. According to the initial reports, the auto accident took place during the morning, although the exact time remains unknown. What is clear is that at least two cars were involved, both of which were traveling close to the intersection of State Road 417 and Interstate 4.

Shortly before the accident, the two cars were traveling along one of the two roads. The wording of the report indicates that at least one of the drivers was perhaps using the entrance ramp leading from S.R. 417 in order to access I-4, although the reports currently contain only a small amount of information. It is therefore possible that neither of the drivers were attempting to exit S.R. 417 in order to access the busier highway.

Regardless of the circumstances, the two vehicles came into contact with one another in such a way as to cause one of the vehicles to begin to roll. The reports failed to mention just how many times the car rolled before coming to a stop, and it is also not clear whether or not the second vehicle suffered from any sort of rolling or destabilization.

After the incident, emergency response teams were called to the scene. They rushed to the area in order to provide medical support to the people involved as well as direct traffic through the area. The reports from the Florida Highway Patrol state that all of the northbound traffic heading down State Road 417 was being redirected along Rinehart Road while the initial cleanup and investigation was underway.

When the medical teams reached the vehicles, it became immediately apparent that an individual in the car that overturned was badly injured. The medical teams worked to assist this person, but it is believed that the severity of their injuries prevented much successful medical intervention. It is not known if this person was taken from the scene to a nearby medical facility, but we do know that they passed away as a result of the injuries they sustained.

An investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
