Two-Car Crash in Seminole County Seriously Injures Six People
Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol working are currently investigating a two-vehicle collision that injured six people over the weekend on County Road 419 in Seminole County.
According to initial details surrounding the accident, it was approximately 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 7, 2022, when an SUV carrying three individuals was pulling out of a local Publixnear Snow Hill Road in Oviedo. Witnesses who were at the scene of the crash stated that the driver of the sport utility vehicle allegedly failed to yield for a stop sign at the grocery store and exited the parking lot in the left direction of County Road 419. This dangerous maneuver positioned the SUV into the direct path of an oncoming sedan that was also carrying three people and although both vehicles attempted to avoid a T-bone collision, their efforts proved to be futile and they crashed into one another. The sedan caught fire as a result of the crash.
First responders with the Oviedo & Seminole County Fire Department and members of the Florida Highway Patrol were dispatched to the scene of the two-car accident and made quick work of removing the badly injured victims from their mangled vehicles. Three occupants of the sedan, a 16-year-old male teenager, a 20-year-old man, and a 22-year-old man, were all transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center suffering from a wide range of injuries.
The 54-year-old male driver of the SUV was severely injured during the collision and his 23-year-old and 53-year-old passengers also sustained critical and serious injuries. They were all taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center for additional medical treatment.
The cause of this crash is currently being investigated by officials with the Florida Highway Patrol.
