Trio of Teenagers Behind Multiple Collisions in Holly Hill

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on June 12, 2019

A series of crashes that took place in and around Holly Hill is believed to be the result of several teenagers attempting to flee from a traffic stop. Reports from the Holly Hill Police Department stated that the incident began after an officer clocked a car traveling with excessive speed down the eastern lanes of the 500 block of 8th Street.

It was around 3:00 in the afternoon when the officer in question reported this incident and then gave chase to the car in an attempt to perform a routine traffic stop. For reasons that are not clear, it seems as though the driver of the car, as soon as they saw the emergency lights behind them, decided to try and outrun the police vehicle.

It is not known for how long the police officer pursued the people in the speeding car, but at the intersection of State Avenue and 8th Street, the driver of the fleeing vehicle apparently lost control and was unable to prevent a collision between their car and a parked vehicle that was sitting in a parking lot for an apartment building located along the southern portion of the roadway.

This crash was not enough to deter the fleeing driver, however, and they continued on their way as fast as they could, crashing through a wall as well as downing a telephone pole during their passage. It seems at this point that the car had had enough, forcing the individuals inside to stop, exit the vehicle, and attempt to flee on foot.

Police, still on the trail of the individuals in question, tracked them through the lawns of homes and businesses, eventually managing to arrest two people, both 16, who are believed to have been in the car at the time of the events described above. It is not clear if either of these teenagers were driving the car in question, and it is also not clear just what charges these two people face.

Police are also searching for a third individual who is believed to have been in the car at the time of the collisions.
