T-Bone Crash in Osceola County Kills 59-Year-Old Pickup Truck Driver
Authorities with the Florida Highway Patrol have started an investigation into a pickup vs. semi-truck accident that claimed the life of one individual and injured another yesterday afternoon along Osceola Polk Line Road in Davenport.
Early details from troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol operating within Osceola County indicate that it was close to 3:46 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, when a 59-year-old woman from Orlando was driving a 2022 Ford F-150 in the northbound direction of Old Lake Wilson Road. At this same time, a 31-year-old semi-truck driver from Hialeah was approaching from the eastern direction of Osceola Polk Line Road in his big rig.
Reports state that the 59-year-old driver of the Ford F-150 pulled her truck into the intersection of Old Lake Wilson Road and Osceola Polk Line Road in an attempt to turn left onto Osceola Polk Line Road, and in doing so, she positioned her pickup in the direct path of the oncoming semi-truck. Unable to avoid a collision, the semi-truck slammed into the passenger’s side of the pickup truck.
Several Osceola County emergency response teams and members of the Florida Highway Patrol were dispatched to the scene of the auto accident but despite their best efforts, the 59-year-old driver of the Ford sadly passed away. Her 37-year-old passenger, a man from Lake Mary, was transported to HCA Florida Osceola Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the semi-truck was not injured and fully cooperated with local law enforcement agencies at the crash site.
A roadblock was temporarily put in place around the intersection, but the area has since been reopened.
