Single Casualty in Early Morning Orange County Crash

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on July 19, 2019

A collision that took place in Orange County on Saturday, July 13th, resulted in the untimely death of an individual who was behind the wheel of a large SUV at the time of the crash. According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, the SUV rollover accident occurred very early in the morning, close to 3:00, along a stretch of State Road 429 that lies close to mile marker 21. It is believed that only the one vehicle, the SUV, was involved in the accident.

Behind the wheel of the SUV was a 29-year-old individual. The reports did not mention if this person was a resident of Orange County or if they came from some other area. The reports also failed to mention where this individual was coming from at such an early hour. What we do know is that, as they made their way down the northern lane of State Road 429, something happened to cause the driver of the Honda SUV to lose control of the vehicle.

The 29-year-old driver was not able to regain control of the vehicle in time to stop its helter-skelter trajectory, and soon the car careened over the grass median separating the north and southbound lanes. It is fortunate that at this time there was no one traveling along the southbound lanes of State Road 429, otherwise the accident may have resulted in far more casualties. As it is, the driver of the SUV remained unable to wrestle control back from the car itself, and after it crossed the southbound lanes it crashed and rolled over into a ditch lying near the road that was itself filled with water.

Members of the Florida Highway Patrol were among the first responders to the scene, along with EMTs and paramedics. It was not clear if the accident was reported by a witness or if an officer with the FHP came across the scene first. It is also not known how much time passed from when the collision first took place to when the police arrived at the scene.

At the time of this writing, the accident remains under investigation.
