Rollover Crash in Orlando Causes Massive Delays

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on May 28, 2020

Traffic within the city of Orlando was negatively affected after a collision occurred along the Interstate 4 corridor on Tuesday, May 26th. Currently, not much information about the rollover accident itself is available as we await updates from the authorities regarding the incident and its aftermath. What we do know comes from reports issued by several emergency response agencies working within Orlando, agencies such as the Florida Highway Patrol and the Orlando Police Department, who responded to the incident in question. According to the reports from these groups, the incident took place during the morning, sometime before 7:30 a.m.

At this time, many people were traveling along I-4 on their way to work. It is not known if this number was fewer than normal due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic or if the cars traveling through the area were as high as usual. One of the drivers in the area had yet to merge onto I-4 and was traveling along State Road 408 headed towards the ramp that would lead them to the busier and larger highway.

When this driver reached the ramp from State Road 408 to the eastern lanes of I-4, they exited the state road and began the process of merging. Here, the information that we possess becomes somewhat blurry. We do know that the car ultimately rolled over, but it is not clear if this was after colliding with another vehicle or if the crash was relegated to a single vehicle only. The extent of damage done to the car or cars involved was also not clear, although the reports did mention that the ramp was closed after the incident, prompting many to try and find alternate ways of reaching the vital highway.

The emergency response crews worked swiftly to resolve the issue, and the ramp was reopened as of 7:40 in the morning. It is not known if anyone was injured in the incident, and it is not known if any charges are currently pending against anyone involved.

The incident remains under investigation, with further updates pending the results of the search by authorities into the reasons behind the crash.
