One Killed and Several Injured During T-Bone Crash in Orange County
Early collision reports from the Florida Highway Patrol indicate that four people were injured and one individual was killed during a two-car crash Saturday morning on South Goldenrod Road in Orange County.
According to preliminary details from troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol operating within Orange County, it was approximately 12:45 a.m. on Christmas Eve when a 29-year-old woman from Orlando was driving a Nissan Altima in the southbound direction of Goldenrod Road with two female passengers. As she approached an upcoming intersection, the driver attempted to make a left turn onto Fort Jefferson Boulevard and pulled out in front of an oncoming BMW traveling from the opposite direction. The Nissan Altima was struck on the right passenger’s side by the luxury sports car, causing the Altima to spin out of control and slam into a nearby curb along the roadway.
Emergency response teams and officers from across Orange County were dispatched to the scene of the auto accident and quickly determined that several victims required immediate medical assistance.
The 32-year-old Casseberry woman, who was one of two passengers in the Nissan Altima, suffered life-ending injuries during the T-bone collision and passed away shortly after arriving at the hospital. The 29-year-old driver of the Altima sustained severe injuries and was also taken to the closest hospital while her other passenger, a 27-year-old woman from Orlando, received treatment for minor injuries.
The 17-year-old passenger of the BMW was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The 18-year-old driver of the vehicle, who was the only person wearing a seatbelt when the car accident occurred, sustained minor injuries.
This fatal auto accident is currently under investigation by authorities with the Florida Highway Patrol. No further information is known at this time.
