RSSOne Injured after Car Overturns, Catches Fire Near Orlando
Early on Wednesday, December 5th, two vehicles traveling down John Young Parkway close to Orlando were involved in an auto accident that resulted in at least one of them suffering from fairly severe injuries. According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident was first reported at some point before noon, likely before the sun had even risen (although some current reports on the event failed to specify the exact time when the emergency calls began to reach dispatchers).
As soon as they were aware of the event, police, EMTs, and paramedics rushed to the area in order to try and aid the most injured as well as provide assistance and direction to the traffic continuing to travel along the affected portion of John Young Parkway.
In their preliminary report, the first responders did not provide much details on the accident itself. According to their spokesperson, the accident resulted in one of the two vehicles overturning. It is not clear how the two vehicles came into contact with one another, and it is also not known if any charges are currently pending in the case. All that is clear regarding the collision itself is that after the one car overturned its engine caught fire.
As a direct result of the collision, at least one person was rushed to a nearby hospital. Despite the severity of the crash and the following fire, this person’s injuries were all deemed to be not life-threatening. It is not clear if this person remains in the medical center or if they were able to be released shortly after the incident itself.
It is not clear if the other driver involved – or any passengers, if there were any – sustained injuries as a result of the collision. It is also not clear just what exactly happened to cause the collision in the first place, although it is believed that an investigation into the event is ongoing and that authorities will release more information regarding the bearer of culpability in this case.
