Multiple Dead and Seriously Injured in Head-On Osceola County Crash

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on December 2, 2020

As anyone familiar with physics will tell you, head-on collisions are going to be the most violent and forceful out of any crash scenario. This is due to the fact that the force of the crash is not the speed of one car or the other but the two of them, combined. As a result, a car traveling 45mph crashing head-on into another car going 45mph would be the same as if each of these two cars crashed into a tree while going 90mph. You can see how accidents of this sort can very quickly become very deadly. This is the sort of scenario that took place in Osceola County on the morning of Monday, November 30th.

It was close to 5:30 in the morning when two vehicles were traveling along Kenansville Road. One of these vehicles, an SUV being driven by a 21-year-old person from Royal Palm Beach, was headed down the southern lane of Kenansville Road, while another vehicle, a pickup truck being driven by a 37-year-old from Okeechobee, was driving down the northern lanes. As these two vehicles neared one another, something happened to cause the 21-year-old driver to allow their car to travel out of the southbound lane and into the northbound lane. The driver of the pickup truck was about to pass the SUV at the moment when the SUV suddenly entered their lane. Unable to avoid one another after the events were put into motion, the front of the SUV and the front of the pickup truck crashed into one another.

According to the authorities, the force of the crash resulted in the 37-year-old driver of the pickup truck as well as 34-year-old passenger within the truck dying instantly. Inside of the pickup truck were two additional passengers, a 26-year-old and a 40-year-old. Both of these individuals were seriously injured in the accident, but they were alive when emergency response crews reached the scene and were transported to nearby hospitals.

The 21-year-old driver of the SUV was also killed in the crash.

Reports indicated that the 21-year-old was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident. All of the individuals within the pickup truck were wearing theirs.
