Motorcyclist Killed During a T-Bone Crash in Titusville
Authorities with the Titusville Police Department are currently investigating the death of a motorcyclist who was fatally injured during an auto accident with another vehicle earlier this morning near Foley Road.
Early details from the deadly collision indicate that it was close to 9:30 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2022, when 69-year-old Titusville resident Frances Jade Moree was behind the wheel of a silver GMC Sierra truck while driving along Foley Road. Reports from the Titusville Police Department state that the driver of the pickup truck attempted to turn onto the southbound lane of South Street from Foley Road and while they were in the process of this maneuver, a motorcyclist riding a 2019 Harley Davidson approached from the northbound vicinity and struck the driver’s side of the pickup.
The force of impact from the motorcycle accident caused the GMC Sierra to be propelled through multiple lanes of traffic and the intersection of Foley Road and South Street before finally coming to a rest in a retention pond located next to the roadway. The driver of the pickup truck, Frances Jade Moree, sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the T-bone crash and was transported to a local hospital for additional medical assistance.
The motorcyclist, whose name has yet to be released to the public pending next-of-kin notification, suffered severe life-altering injuries and was also taken to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. He was unable to survive and passed away about an hour after arrival.
Investigators with the Titusville Police Department have not filed any formal charges against either individual involved in this incident, however, that could potentially change once the conclusion of the case has been reached.
