Florida Crash on Three Oaks Parkway Results in Fatality
A 21-year-old man was driving a 1998 Lexus sedan north along Three Oaks Parkway in Estero on Sunday morning at approximately 2:40 a.m., when he lost control of his vehicle. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the Lexus drifted into the grassy median and began to spin clockwise. As the vehicle was rotating, the front end of the car slammed into a tree, bringing it to a stop. It was reported that the driver died at the scene of the accident. The accident remains under investigation and few details are known at this time. It is also unknown if speed or fatigue were factors in the incident.
This accident is the latest in a number of single vehicle auto accidents in the past few weeks along Florida roads, according to the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles. There can be a number of reasons car accidents occur, from fatigue, to distraction, medical emergencies or plain reckless driving. Whatever the reason, the outcome of these accidents has often been tragic, with serious injuries and even death as a result. The Florida Highway Patrol Troop E has made it part of their mission to reduce vehicular accidents in Florida through visible deterrence and motorist education. The belief is that by showing the general public that the FHP is out in full force with discourage dangerous behavior, and that educating motorists will encourage safe driving behaviors.
Though the Florida Highway Patrol and countless other state personnel will do their very best to keep Florida motorists safe, accidents will likely still occur on Florida roads due to human error or negligence. And these accidents will leave behind many innocent victims, who may find themselves in a place where they are no longer able to earn a living, provide for their families, or enjoy many of life’s pleasures that they once did.
