Early Morning Ocala Crash Leaves One Dead, Three Injured
Three vehicles collided within the city of Ocala on Friday, November 8th, resulting in the death of at least one person as well as the injury of three others. Reports from the scene emerged shortly after the auto accident took place and they included the information that the collision had occurred sometime around 1:30 in the morning as the three vehicles were being driven down State Road 40, close to where this street intersects with Northeast 25th Avenue.
It is not known who notified the emergency response crews about the crash, but when the members of the Ocala Police Department, the Ocala Fire Department, the Marion County Fire Rescue, the Florida Highway Patrol and numerous EMTs and paramedics reached the scene they discovered a red Hyundai, a white Ford, and a blue Ford Mustang had all been involved in the crash. It is not known if any of the individuals involved was able to communicate the specifics about what happened to the authorities, so at the time of this writing, our primary information comes from what the Ocala Fire Department was able to glean from the aftermath of the crash.
The force of the collision between the three cars was such that it caused both the Hyundai and the Ford to roll over and flip onto their roofs. Both vehicles were overturned in this position when the emergency response crews reached the location of the crash. The condition and position of the Mustang was not included in the initial reports, but it is confirmed that this vehicle was indeed involved in some capacity.
Regarding the individuals involved, it appears that the driver and the passenger inside of the Ford were both ejected from the car during the crash. It is not known whether or not they were wearing seatbelts. These two individuals were transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center. The driver of the Mustang also sustained injuries and was taken from the scene to the Ocala Regional Medical Center.
The driver of the Hyundai, who became trapped in the car after it came to rest against a power pole, was the most seriously injured in the crash. Reports indicated that this individual was declared dead at the scene of the accident.
It is not known if any charges are currently pending.
