Dump Truck Crashes Near Orange County

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on October 15, 2019

Officials working with numerous Orange County emergency response crews reported on an auto accident that took place in Orlando around 10:00 in the morning on Monday, October 14th. According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident involved at least a single vehicle, although it is possible that other vehicles were involved. Additionally, it is not entirely clear at this point whether or not any injuries were sustained in the incident or even how many people were involved.

It began sometime around 10:00 in the morning, when a dump truck was traveling down the western lanes of State Road 528. At this time, the area should have been clear of most of the morning rush hour traffic, but that in no way implies that the roadway was free of all other vehicles. As the dump truck approached the intersection between State Road 528 and Semoran Boulevard, something happened to cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

At this point, it is not entirely clear just what could have taken place to cause this reaction. As stated above, it is not known whether or not numerous vehicles were involved in the accident or if the dump truck alone was affected. What we do know is that after losing control of the vehicle the dump truck somehow overturned, spilling at least a gallon of fuel over the roadway as it did.

Traffic attempting to pass through the area was dramatically slowed down as a result of this accident. Traffic cameras posted near the area depicted the aftermath of the scene, with the dump truck on its side and at least two different lines of traffic snaking away from the crash site as drivers were forced to wait while emergency response crews cleaned up the area.

Due to the weight of the vehicle involved, a large wrecker had to be called in to assist in righting the dump truck onto its wheels again. It is not clear if the dump truck was carrying a load of any sort at the time of the accident or if it was empty. It is also not clear if the driver of the dump truck was injured as a result of the crash.
