Elevator Malfunction Traps 24 in Daytona Beach Hotel
Daytona Beach’s Hilton Resort was the scene of a nightmarish scenario last Friday night when 24 individuals were trapped in an elevator and had to be rescued by firefighters pulling them up through the elevator shaft. The event, which happened at the Daytona Beach hotel located at 100 N. Atlantic Avenue, is believed to have started around 9:40pm.

According to the National Safety Council, the first six months of the year has not been kind to Florida motorists. According to recently released NCS stats, 1600 people have been killed in Florida automobile accidents between January and June 2016. To put this into perspective, this represents a shocking 43 percent increase in car crash fatalities compared to the same time period in 2014.
Accident along I-95 in Melbourne Sends 3 to Hospitals
This past Tuesday night, at around 8:15pm, an accident took place in the southbound lanes of I-95 that resulted in the complete shutting down of part of the interstate as well as several injuries. High Speed Driving Leaves One Dead in Delray Beach
One person has died and another has been seriously injured following an automobile crash in Delray Beach, Florida this week. According to news reports, a yellow Lamborghini and a yellow Porsche were driving at a very high speed when the Lamborghini crashed into a Buick Enclave, injuring the driver of the Lamborghini and killing the driver of the Buick. The accident happened at Northeast 1st Street.

This is how friends and family have described a nine year old boy who was killed in a car crash involving six cars on Interstate 75 near State Road 50. The child’s mother, father and five year old sister were all seriously injured in the same crash.
Local Florida Teen Killed When Driver Falls Asleep
On Sunday, a 16 year old senior at Apopka High School was hit and killed while standing on the shoulder of the Florida Turnpike. According to police reports, the boy, Sonjay Nandram, was killed when a driver fell asleep while driving. Sonjay’s death comes just one year after his mother passed away.
Failure to Stop at Stop Sign Results in Several Deaths, Injuries in Bay County
Over the weekend a Chillicothe resident was killed in a car accident that happened in Bay County, Florida. Killed in the crash was a 25 and 30 year old man, both of Columbus, Ohio. Two other Columbus residents and the driver of the Dodge van, a 31 year old also from Ohio, were all injured in the crash and remain in critical condition.
