Two Young Girls Left Parentless Following Orlando Automobile Crash

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on September 27, 2016

A mother and father were killed while on a family vacation in Orlando, Florida with their two young daughters. According to a local news report, after scraping by and saving to be able to take their two young daughters to Disney World, the parents were driving from Missouri to Florida for a trip of a lifetime when tragedy struck.

While on their way to the beach, a 2016 Ford Focus drifted into the family’s 2007 Nissan along Interstate 4. This caused forced the family’s car off the road, where it collided with a tree. Both the mother and father were killed on impact, with the two daughters surviving, although one was seriously injured and the other critically injured. Both girls were airlifted from the crash scene to Orlando’s Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

The driver of the other vehicle was not hurt in the automobile crash.

According to news reports, the family’s vacation was just wrapping up. The week included stops to Disney World and Universal Studios, and they were on their way to the beach to show the kids the ocean before heading back home to Missouri. The children, who remain in the hospital, have not yet been told about the fate of their parents. Authorities are waiting for family to arrive to be with the children.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation and, as of yet, no charges have been filed against the driver of the Ford Focus that caused the accident.

Needless to say, in tragedies like this the last thing anyone wants to think about is filing a lawsuit. Granted, no amount of money will ever make up for the loss of one’s parents. However, as the two surviving daughters are young minors now facing a life without their parents, there will be years of expenses and loss that they must cope with – and with this, compensation can help. The children will, in all likelihood, be able to file a personal injury suit and unlawful death actions against the other driver, not only for their own serious injuries, but also for the loss of both of their parents.

If you have been injured in an Orlando automobile accident you have the legal right to compensation. To learn more, contact the Law Offices of James O. Cunningham, P.A.today.
