A fiery crash on Interstate 4 in Orlando created a traffic nightmare for drivers, shutting down an interstate for hours. The crash occurred on February 18th around midnight and took place in a notoriously dangerous section of the freeway.
Florida Man Killed in Accident on State Road 84
An accident just after noon on Thursday has left one Fort Lauderdale man dead. Terrence M. Sosenko, a 60-year-old man from Fort Lauderdale, was on his mobility scooter and attempting to cross State Road 84 when he was struck by the rear wheels of a commercial beverage truck, driven by Farrell E. Jackson, 43, of Miami. Mr. Sosenko was in the crosswalk at the time of the accident. Although police have not charged the driver of the truck at this time, the investigation is ongoing. Police have obtained surveillance video from businesses in the area and interviewed several witnesses. Traffic was shut down for several hours eastbound on State Road 84 due to the accident.
Fiery Orange County Crash Delays Traffic on I-4
On Wednesday morning, February 18, 2015, traffic was delayed for several hours on Interstate 4 in Orange County, due to vehicle crash that happened the night before. Late Tuesday just before midnight, a semi-truck was in a single-vehicle wreck that occurred by the Par Street exit ramp on the heavily traveled I-4 near Winter Park, Florida.
Rush Hour Crash Snarls Florida Traffic on State Road 19
A crash at the intersection of State Road 19 and Dead River Road had traffic backed up in both directions for nearly 90 minutes early Wednesday morning. The accident occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m., right in the middle of rush hour traffic. A northbound GMC pickup, driven by 70-year-old James Rodney, was attempting to make a left hand turn when it collided with a southbound Toyota Corolla. The impact of the crash caused the Corolla to spin around in the intersection, but did not flip over. Emergency Medical Services arrived on scene shortly after the accident to check out both parties. Neither was seriously injured.
