Driver Runs Red Light, Causes Multi-Vehicle Accident in Orange County
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is looking for a woman accused of causing a multiple vehicle crash last weekend in Orange County, Florida. According to the FHP, the 50 year old female from Apopka was driving her Chevrolet Avalanche south on Hiawassee Road when she ran a red light located at the intersection of Balboa Drive. As she ran through the intersection, she crashed into the side of an SUV driven by a female driver and heading east on Balboa Drive. This collision then caused a chain reaction, with the SUV veering into a Chrysler driven by a 31 year old male who was in the northbound lanes of Hiawassee Road.
Venus Williams Cites Contributory Negligence in Florida Wrongful Death Suit
Tennis star Venus Williams has responded to a Florida wrongful death lawsuit stemming from a June fatal car accident that she was involved in that left a 78 year old man dead. According to legal documents, Williams denies that she contributed in any way to the death or injuries of the other passengers. Instead, she cites contributory negligence, arguing that the plaintiffs were negligent in their failure to wear seatbelts and that this was the sole cause of their injuries and the death. The defense also claims that the vehicle owners failed to properly maintain and repair their vehicle and that this too contributed to their injuries/death.
Passenger Injured in Deadly Sanford Car Crash
A 38 year old female from Deltona, Florida was killed over the weekend after her car left the road and crashed into a nearby tree. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the driver was driving her 2012 Hyundai sedan early Saturday morning on Oak Drive near the intersection with Riverview Avenue in Sanford when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the road and crashed into the tree. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Woman on the Run after Causing Three Car Crash in Florida
On Sunday evening, a 50-year-old woman from Apopka was driving a Chevy Avalanche towards the intersection of Hiawassee Road and Balboa Drive when she collided with an SUV being driven by the 61-year-old Orlando woman Deborah Anderson. Due to the force of the impact, Anderson’s vehicle was shoved violently off course, crashing into a Chrysler being driven by another Orlando resident, the 31-year-old James Williams. The Florida Highway Patrol has issued a statement regarding the collision that details the currently known facts of the case.
Australian Man’s Death Linked to Faulty Takata Airbags
A 58-year-old man from Sydney, Australia passed away over the weekend after the Honda CRV he was driving collided with another vehicle at an intersection. The impact from the accident caused the airbags to deploy, fatally wounding the driver when he was struck in the neck with metal shrapnel from the faulty airbags. An officer at the scene said: “Investigations have revealed the death of the man is likely due to a fault in the airbag, causing the man to be struck in the neck by a small fragment.”

Late Wednesday evening in Sorrento, Florida, a young couple was involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident involving two separate vehicles.
Two Vehicle Crash in Osceola County, Florida
Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) say a Florida man was killed mid-week in a two-vehicle crash that happened in Osceola County. The accident happened in mid-afternoon near the intersection of Boggy Creek Road and Lake Vista Drive. According to the FHP accident report, the accident involved a Honda Accord and a Honda van. The Honda Accord was driving east on Boggy Creek Road, while the Honda van was traveling west. As the two vehicles approached, the Accord veered into the westbound lane where it struck the front left side of the oncoming van. The reason for the Accord’s swerve is unknown and the crash remains under investigation.
Moped Driver Killed in Lake County Hit and Run Incident
A 26 year old male was killed when his moped was hit by two different vehicles in Lake County, Florida. Following the accident, one of the vehicles fled the scene. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the 26 year old male was driving his moped, along with an 18 year old female passenger, southbound on County Road 437 at the time of the accident.
Two Killed in Orlando Wrong-Way Crash
Two women, a 21 year old from Pompano Beach, Florida, and a 29 year old from Boca Raton, Florida, were killed last weekend in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 95 in Volusia County. The two women were traveling southbound in a Toyota Prius at 2:00 am when they were struck head on by a Ford truck traveling north in the southbound lanes. The truck was driven by a 28 year old male from South Carolina.
Fatal Crash Along Orange County Beachline
A fatal accident took place late on Wednesday morning, shortly before 12:00pm, along a stretch of the Beachline in Orange County. The Florida Highway Patrol’s statement on the crash indicates that the deceased is believed to be a 21-year-old man from Rockledge, although no name or other identifying details are currently public knowledge. Further biographical information is pending contact with the dead man’s next of kin.
