Orange County Animal Service Worker Dies in Collision
Joseph Campo, a 31-year-old resident of Orange County, died on Tuesday after being involved in a head-on collision along John Young Parkway. Campo, an employee of the Orange County Animal Services, was on his way to work, driving a 1989 Ford Mustang, when the incident occurred. Details from the Florida Highway Patrol indicate that the crash happened around 2:30 in the afternoon and involved, as well as Campo, a 20-year-old named Lilliana Rojas.
Fatal Crash between Truck and New Smyrna Beach Home

An extremely dramatic accident on Sunday Night in Orlando left one individual dead and numerous others in various states of shock. According to the Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson, Sgt. Kim Montes, a 45-year-old Orlando resident named Carlos Camacho was behind the wheel of a 2007 Honda SUV speeding down Chancellor Drive, close to Premier Row and the intersection of this street and Oak Ridge Road, when he lost control of the vehicle. The initial report states that Camacho was traveling at excessive speeds as he drove along Chancellor Drive, and that it was when he failed to adequately navigate a tight curve that the incident began. It is believed that this happened at 9:15 in the evening.
1-Year-Old Child Drowns in Orange County Pool
Late on Thursday afternoon, just before 4:30, emergency first responders throughout Orange County rushed to Delcrest Drive’s 2900 block (close to both North Econlockhatchee Trail and State Road 417) after a call came in that indicated a young child had been discovered unresponsive in a pool. According to the report from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the child, a nearly 1-year-old boy, was discovered in the pool by members of his family.
Winter Park Home Destroyed in Fire
Early in the morning in Winter Park this past Thursday emergency services throughout Orange County responded to a 9-1-1 call that indicated a home was on fire. Sirens wailing, engines with the Orange County Fire Rescue team rushed towards 801 Mare Bello Drive, where the call came from and where the firefighters could see the orange flames lighting up the sky.
Airboat Accident Injures Fourteen on Lake Panasoffkee
Emergency response teams and wildlife officials were dispatched to Lake Panasoffkee in Sumter County early Tuesday morning in order to rescue fifteen people aboard an airboat after it suffered a mechanical failure and crashed into a cypress knee that was partially submerged in the water.
Bikers Killed In Separate Accidents During Biketoberfest
Motorcycle riders and bike enthusiasts from all over the country ascended upon Daytona Beach this past weekend to attend the 2017 Daytona Beach Biketoberfest, a spectacular 4-day event that saw crowds into the thousands as they celebrated its 25th anniversary in style. Tragically, the festivities were cut short for one local man, who was involved in a fatal motorcycle at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 21.

Child Dies in Medical Emergency at Lake County Day Care
The Leesburg Police Department are currently investigating a disturbing and as-of-yet unexplained death that occurred at a daycare center in Lake County this past Friday. According to the official report on this ongoing investigation, police were called by the child’s mother, an unnamed 26-year-old woman, after she arrived at the daycare to collect her two children and bring them home.
Girl Fatally Falls From Deck of Carnival Cruise Line Ship
On Saturday, a ship with the popular Carnival Cruise Line was returning to PortMiami after a week-long journey through the Caribbean when an incident occurred that transformed what was an enjoyable trip into a nightmare. Just after 8:00 in the morning, the ship arrived at Port Miami and docked so that the passengers could disembark. It was during the movement of passengers from the deck of the ship to the pier that an 8-year-old girl, who was standing on one of the upper decks inside the ship, fell from her location in the atrium to a deck two stories beneath her.
