Orland Apartment Complex Badly Damaged in Fire
A fire ripped through an cluster of Orlando apartments this past Saturday leaving numerous people, many of them children, without homes and most of their possessions. According to the Orlando Fire Department, the fire broke out at the Windsor Cove Apartments for reasons that were not initially clear, although an investigation by the state fire marshal and the Orlando Fire Rescue Department did uncover what now being treated as the most probable cause for the blaze.

An alarming situation happened early on Saturday morning when numerous people were evacuated from a Carnival Cruise ship docked at Port Canaveral. The details released from the Orlando Police Department do not give a full picture of the events leading up to the collision between an SUV and a pedestrian, and they also give very little in the way of explanation of what happened during and after the collision. What facts were released give us the general idea of the crash, and it is therefore worthwhile to relate them here.
Head-On Collision Leaves One Dead in Osceola County
A 29-year-old Orlando man was killed in a head-on collision last weekend. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the accident happened when the driver was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes on State Road 60 near Peavine Road in south Osceola County. There was a 43-year-old male passenger in his car.
Drunk Driver Hits Four Cars on Interstate 4
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a 28-year-old Orlando woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after she crashed her vehicle into four other cars near Tampa, Florida. When the police arrived at the accident scene, they not only found the woman acting ‘erratically and disturbed’ outside her car, they also found her two-year-old child wandering around alone on busy Interstate 4. To make matters worse, she kicked an officer while be placed in handcuffs.
Body of Missing Man Found in Lake Okeechobee
Almost two weeks ago, Kayler and his friend, Kisiah, entered a fishing tournament in the town of South Bay. The tournament, which traditionally takes place at Lake Okeechobee and is hosted by the Fishing League Worldwide, attracts scores of people hoping to catch prize-winning angler fish. Kayler and Kisiah set out into the lake using Kisiah’s boat. At the end of the day, after all the other individuals who had competed in the competition were accounted for at the weigh-in spot located at C. Scott Driver Recreational Area, it became apparent that neither Kayler nor Kisiah had returned. A search was launched which included scores of officers with the Clewiston Police Department as well as volunteers using boats to comb the area for the two men.
Orlando Pedestrian Hit while Crossing Street
A 73-year-old woman from the Orlando area was killed this week after being hit by a car while crossing the street. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the woman was crossing Pershing Avenue, near Redditt Road, around 6:30 PM. She was not crossing in a crosswalk and walked in front of an oncoming car driven by a 31-year-old female from Orlando. The pedestrian was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the car was not injured. The FHP is continuing to investigate the accident.
Orlando Collision Leaves One Dead, Two Injured
This past Saturday, Rodriguez, a 27-year-old Orlando resident was driving his Honda Accord down the westbound lanes of Colonial Drive shortly after 3:00 in the morning. At the same time, an unnamed 20-year-old woman and her unnamed 20-year-old companion were traveling down the eastbound lanes of Colonial Drive.
