Two Riders Critically Injured in Motorcycle Accident
Two motorcyclists were critically injured after a motorcycle accident recently near Cocoa. Accident investigators say that the accident occurred around 5:45 p.m. near the intersection of State Road 524 and State Road 520. Florida Highway Patrol officers say one victim is a 43-year-old Merritt Island woman who went to Orlando Regional Medical Center and is in critical condition. The other victim is a 47-year-old Titusville man who is receiving treatment for undisclosed critical injuries at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne.
Criminal Charges Filed in Fatal Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Accident
A motorcycle accident on U.S. 92 claimed the life of one man and resulted in criminal charges for another for leaving the scene of an accident. Florida Highway Patrol investigators say the 24-year-old motorcyclist died from injuries he suffered when a Honda driven by a Plant City man pulled out in front of him. Troopers say that the victim was traveling eastbound on his motorcycle on U.S. 92 around 7 p.m. on February 18 when a 1997 Honda Accord turned left onto U.S. 92 from the Plaza Mexicana parking lot. The driver of the Honda was attempting to head west on U.S. 92, but pulled directly into the path of the rider.

Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident
Ocala.com reports that a man died in a motorcycle accident involving several motorcycles. Officials with the Florida Highway Patrol say the man was riding in a group of motorcycles traveling north together on Interstate 75 when a chain reaction motorcycle accident occurred just south of mile marker 358. The FHP official said that the motorcycle accident began when a bag fell from one of the motorcycles and landed in the road.
Charges Pending in Fatal Florida Motorcycle Accident
A Florida motorcycle accident in early November that claimed the life of a Gulf Breeze man has resulted in charges for an 18-year-old Navarre woman. The Northwest Florida Daily News reports that the accident occurred late in the afternoon on Nov. 2, 2009, on State Road 87. The 64-year-old motorcycle accident victim was pronounced dead at the accident scene after his 2004 Honda motorcycle struck the right side of a Chevrolet Tahoe that turned in front of him.
Prominent Lake County Man Involved in Fatal Motorcycle Accident
A prominent and very well known Lake County attorney is under investigation for his involvement in a fatal motorcycle accident near Mount Dora. The lawyer’s company won approval for a huge development called the Hills of Minneola in 2008. The attorney is suspected of striking and killing a Mount Dora man while making a left turn into the path of the motorcycle the man was riding. Officials with the Florida Highway Patrol said that the 61-year-old victim was riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle around 8:50 p.m. when the motorcycle accident occurred east of Mount Dora at the intersection of Majestic Oaks Drive and Wolf Branch Road. The collision pushed the victim’s motorcycle onto Majestic Oaks Drive.
Charity Ride After Biketoberfest Founder’s Death an Emotional Journey
This East Volusia News article describes a recent motorcycle ride for charity in honor of Bruce Rossmeyer, the founder of Biketoberfest. Over 1200 motorcyclists and passengers took part in the ride through Deland on October 11 in the 15th annual Daytona Harley-Davidson Ride for Children. The annual event raises money for Camp Boggy Creek, which has helped more than 40,000 children struggling with chronic or life-threatening diseases and their families since the facility opened in 1996. Mr. Rossmeyer was one of the founders of the annual ride and Camp Boggy Creek. He was also one of the driving forces behind Biketoberfest—a very popular annual event in Daytona and surrounding communities. He also owned several successful Harley-Davidson motorcycle dealerships.
Two Injured in Florida Motorcycle Accident
A late September article on nwfdailynews.com describes a Florida motorcycle accident that resulted in two people suffering injuries. The article claims that the motorcycle accident occurred on US Highway 98 around 3 pm on September 27 when two motorcyclists were traveling eastbound and one changed lanes at the same time as the driver of a Honda Accord to pass a truck. The motorcycle that changed lanes was driven by a 53-year-old Georgia woman who immediately had to take evasive action when the driver of the Accord braked to avoid hitting the motorcyclist. Florida Highway Patrol officers investigating the accident say that the Georgia woman lost control of her 2004 Harley Davidson, which overturned and slid more than 300 feet.
Woman Killed in Lake County Florida Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Accident
As reported in the Miami Herald, a 50-year-old London woman died from injuries she suffered in a central Florida hit-and-run motorcycle accident on U.S. Highway 192 in Lake County in August. She was a passenger on a motorcycle and she and the driver were both thrown from the motorcycle when struck by the car.
