Titusville Driver Arrested in Connection with Brevard County Hit-and-Run Crash
Authorities with the Titusville Police Department have finally tracked down and arrested a 25-year-old suspect who they believe was involved in a hit-and-run collision last week. Reports from the previous incident indicate that the suspect allegedly crashed his four-door white sedan into a pedestrian that was walking near Union Street and Wagner Avenue in Brevard County.
According to investigative details from the Titusville Police Department regarding the hit-and-run accident that started this chain reaction of events, the suspect in question was driving his 2002 white Hyundai Sonata back on September 22nd, 2020 when he crashed into an adult male pedestrian. A nearby surveillance camera recorded the Sonata leaving the scene of the accident after his vehicle had seriously injured the pedestrian. This evidence led to an arrest warrant being issued for Titusville resident Galvin Lemazia Ware, which was served today.
After an hours-long standoff this past Friday evening, officers with the Titusville Police SWAT team made the decision to enter the Warren Street residence of 25-year-old Galvin Lemazia Ware at approximately 9:15 p.m. The suspect initially refused to leave his home, but SWAT was able to put him under arrest and into their custody. Galvin Lemazia Ware has been charged with a smattering of crimes, including:
- Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon
- Driving with a Suspended/Revoked/Cancelled License Causing Serious Bodily Harm
- Leaving the Scene of a Crash without Rendering Aid Involving Serious Bodily Harm
- Robbery with Force
Galvin Lemazia Ware is being held at the Brevard County Jail without bond.
The unnamed pedestrian victim involved in this hit-and-run accident remains in the hospital with life-threatening injuries. It is unclear if the two individuals knew each other, or if it was just a random act of violence and a case of being at the wrong place at the wrong time.
