Hit-and-Run Accident Leads to Perpetrator Firing Gun at Victim’s Car

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on May 30, 2019

According to the initial accident reports from the Daytona Beach Police Department, a hit-and-run crash occurred near the intersection of 6th Street and Essex Road shortly after 9:00 on Tuesday, May 21st and involved at least two vehicles. One of these vehicles, a Nissan Infiniti, was carrying a child.

It is not clear if this car was stopped at the intersection when the incident occurred, or if the vehicles were instead traveling along one of the above-mentioned roads. What we do know is that the driver of the Infiniti was surprised when suddenly their car was struck by a white, four-door Nissan sedan. It is not known if the driver of the sedan had lost control of their vehicle or if they were simply not paying close enough attention to the roadway when the accident took place. It is also not known if the collision caused the driver of the Infinity to lose control of the vehicle or if the car was badly damaged in any way.

After hitting the back of the Nissan Infiniti, the driver of the sedan decided that the best option was to drive away from the area as fast as possible. The driver of the Infiniti, angered and alarmed, decided to follow, making efforts the whole time to get the driver of the other vehicle to pull over. Somehow, and this is not currently immediately clear, the two cars collided with one another again during this process. The wording of the reports suggested that the driver of the car that caused the initial accident once again crashed into the Infiniti.

Following this second collision, the driver of the white Nissan pulled out a gun and shot at the Infiniti, although neither the driver of the Infiniti nor the child in the back seat were injured by the rounds.

Although the driver of the white Nissan fled from the scene a second time, police were able to locate them near to Cozy Circle. It is believed that numerous charges are currently pending.
