Father of 3 Killed in Leesburg Hit-and-Run

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on August 27, 2019

Police within the city of Leesburg are working on identifying and capturing an individual who was responsible for a deadly hit-and-run that took place on the morning of Sunday, August 25th. Reports from the Leesburg Police Department indicated that the incident happened close to 6:00 in the morning, at the intersection of West North Boulevard and North 3rd Street. The early reports on the incident did not indicate whether or not this intersection, which lies close to U.S. 441, possesses any pedestrian safety features. It is also not clear if the pedestrian was attempting to cross the roadway or if the driver of the car left the roadway in order to strike them.

It is not clear if the accident was seen by any witnesses or if those who first noticed the badly injured man were first responders who happened to be passing through the area. We do know that when the first responders reached the scene, they found the pedestrian lying on the ground inside of the median. It is not known if the pedestrian was alive when the first responders reached him or if he had died earlier as a result of his injuries. What is clear is that this person was not able to be helped by the medical teams that rushed to the scene afterwards. The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene of the accident.

Police around Leesburg are now urging anyone who might have any information on this fatal incident to step forward and assist the authorities in their investigation. It is believed that the car involved is a white Honda CR-V built between 2002 and 2017. This car will likely have damage to its left front side, although it is also possible that the person driving the vehicle immediately took it to a repair shop where the damage was fixed.

The death of the 32-year-old pedestrian leaves his three children without their father, adding an unthinkable strain to both the emotional and financial lives of the family affected. It is not known if the police are working on any leads at this time.
