Parking Attendant Critically Injured by Orlando Drunk Driver

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on February 12, 2017

A parking garage attendant was badly injured on Sunday morning when a car driven by a 32-year-old woman ran into him as he was working in a parking garage located along International Drive’s 9000 block.  According to the report filed by the Florida Highway Patrol, Thomas Threatt, resident of Orlando, was providing his normal services as a parking attendant in the parking garage. Primarily, this involves accepting payment for parking, assisting parking guests who are having trouble with the parking payment terminals, and ensuring that each car makes it in and out of the garage with no incident.  Threatt’s shift on Sunday morning had begun earlier, on Saturday night.

At around 3:00am, Anoli Condoli, a 32-year-old Orlando resident, climbed into her car and attempted to leave the garage.  What happened next is a little uncertain, however there are some facts that remain known.  Condoli approached the exit lane of the garage in her car, probably hoping to pay and leave.  At this point in time, Threatt was standing beside the lane, assisting other drivers or maybe just ensuring that Condoli exited without issue.  Condoli stopped her car before reaching the exit, a circumstance that is not accounted for.  Then she put her car in reverse and pressed down hard on the gas.  As her car shot backwards, the startled Threatt was unable to dodge the swiftly moving vehicle.  The car struck him and launched him awards into a metal box located near the garage’s exit.

Condoli attempted to continue driving, although it is not known whether or not she was aware that she had just hit Threatt.  Her adventure was terminated when she drove into a pole.  She had not managed to leave the garage.  State troopers arrived quickly and apprehended the bewildered Condoli.  It quickly became apparent that she was intoxicated, and the Florida Highway Patrol immediately arrested her for driving under the influence.

The critically injured Threatt was evacuated from the garage and rushed to the nearby Orlando Regional Medical Center where his injuries are currently being treated and he himself is under observation.
