Minor Injuries Follow a Fender Bender on Florida US 29
Two people are recovering from minor injuries following a car accident that happened last week near Pensacola, Florida. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 60 year old male was driving his 2014 Dodge Ram northbound in the outside lane of US Highway 29 near the intersection with Carolina Drive. At the same intersection, a 52 year old male driver in a Ford F-150 was stopped facing north in the outside lane of US 29. Directly behind him was a 39 year old female driver in her Chevy Malibu.
According to police reports, for a yet unknown reason, the driver of the Dodge Ram suddenly accelerated, causing the front right side of his truck to strike the left rear side of the Chevy Malibu. This caused the Malibu to leave the roadway and crash into a ditch located on the east shoulder of a highway and into a nearby parking lot. The Dodge Ram, on the other hand, spun clockwise and overturned, causing the hood and windshield to strike the back of the F-150 pickup truck. The Dodge Ram finally came to a rest facing east in the outside lane of US 29, and the F-150 facing northeast on the highway’s east shoulder.
Both the driver of the Dodge Ram and the Chevy Malibu received minor injuries. All vehicles also were reported damaged, with the Ram receiving $25,000 in damage, the Malibu $5,000 and the F-150 $2,000. Although an investigation into the cause of the accident continues, according to the Florida Highway Patrol all parties were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident and alcohol has been ruled out as a possible contributing factor.
Regardless of how minor you think your injuries are, if you are involved in a Florida automobile accident it is imperative that you immediately seek medical attention. Often times serious injuries will not manifest immediately after an accident. In fact, sometimes it can take days or weeks before you notice any pain or injuries. However, by going immediately to a doctor you preserve a record of medical treatment, which may be the difference to being fully compensated for your injuries and receiving nothing at all.
