Car/Tree Collision Kills Kissimmee Man
After losing control of his vehicle while driving eastbound on Boggy Creek Road near the intersection of East Lake Road in Kissimmee, a Florida man collided with a tree and died. The driver has been identified in police reports as Jorge Gonzalez-Medina, a 53 year old man from Kissimmee, Florida. The victim is listed as Daveanand Gualbance, 52, also of Kissimmee, who was in the passenger seat at the time of the collision. Gonzalez-Medina, meanwhile, was transported to the Osceola Regional Hospital and treated for serious injuries.
According to a local news report, it is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were involved. The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the motor vehicle accident, with possible criminal charges against Gonzalez-Medina pending.
In situations such as this, where a passenger is injured or killed in an Orlando automobile accident as a result of the negligence of the driver, he or she may have the legal right to compensation for their injuries and related damages. In cases where the passenger is tragically killed, the surviving family (spouse, children, etc.) may be able to seek damages by filing what is known as a wrongful death claim. Although no amount of money will make up for the loss of a loved one, it can go a long way in helping to cover any costs associated with the death, along with helping make up for the lost income that a family can no longer depend on from a working spouse.
