25-Year-Old Killed When Car Strikes Tree and Flips in Orange County Accident

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on April 25, 2017

Early on Tuesday morning a 25-year-old man named Anthony Disla from Apopka was driving through Orange County in a 2015 Nissan Altima. Westbound on State Road 50, the Altima was nearing the intersection of Colonial Drive and Semon Drive when Disla, for reasons that are currently under investigation, lost control of the vehicle. According to witness reports, the young Disla was trying to maneuver his Altima around traffic in front of him when this occurred.

Members of the Florida Highway Patrol are currently investigating the situation, and their initial findings indicate that the 25-year-old driver was in the process of changing lanes when the loss of control occurred close to 12:15 in the morning. The result of this was for the Altima to leave the road, skid down an embankment, and collide with a tree. After the collision, the car overturned. By the time the emergency response vehicles arrived at the scene it was too late for them to do anything for Anthony Disla who lay trapped and mortally wounded in the overturned vehicle. The medical team did everything within their power to save the man, but it was ultimately too late. Anthony Disla was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Some additional facts relating to the case include the information that Disla was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. While it is impossible to say whether or not a seat belt would have done much in this particular circumstance (accidents of this brutality and intensity will often negate any of the beneficial properties that a seatbelt can offer), it is nevertheless important to note that the possibility exists that, were Disla properly secured inside his vehicle, he might be alive today.

While the Florida Highway Patrol investigates this case they will also be looking for signs of whether alcohol played a part in this late night/early morning crash.
