Three Killed in Martin Country Car Accident
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a four year old girl was among the three individuals killed in a car accident happening just west of Indiantown in Martin Country. The driver has been identified as 22 year old Adolfo Olvera Garcia of Arcadia, Florida.
According to news reports, Garcia was driving westbound on State Road 710 when, for a yet unknown reason, he lost control of his 2011 Chevrolet Malibu, causing the vehicle to travel across the double yellow lines and into the other lane. Here he found himself directly in the path of an oncoming tractor trailer, which hit his car on the right side. The impact tore the Malibu in two, throwing parts onto the road’s shoulder. The impact also caused the tractor trailer to veer off into the guardrail located on the opposite shoulder from where Garcia’s car ended up.
Medical responders pronounced Garcia and his two passengers – 23 year old Amber Ruiz and four year old Serenity Hines – dead at the scene. According to police reports, all three had been wearing seatbelts. The driver of the tractor trailer, a 47 year old male, was seriously injured and taken to Martin Hospital South for treatment.
The Florida automobile accident remains under investigation.
