Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Orlando Hit-and-Run

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on February 1, 2020

Investigators with the Orlando Police Department are looking for the driver responsible for a hit-and-run accident that took place in Orlando, along North Orange Blossom Trail, on the night of Wednesday, January 29th. At the time of this writing, reports from the police have issued all of the currently known details, although because the individual behind the wheel of the car involved fled from the scene, there is only so much information that is actually available.

After investigating the scene, the police reconstructed as many of the events as possible. Their findings place the time of the incident at around 11:00 at night, as a 21-year-old individual was walking close to the North Orange Blossom Trail near to the intersection of NOBT and Colonial Drive. It is not clear if there were any witnesses to the incident or if anyone saw the woman walking before the accident. Because of this, it is not clear in the reports whether or not the pedestrian was on a sidewalk, or if they were walking along or in the road at the time of the incident.

The Orlando Police Department placed the time of the accident at 11:00 at night. Again, because it is not clear if any witnesses were present at the time of the incident, it is not known if the time specified by the police is when the actual accident happened or if it is simply an estimation by the authorities based on the information they compiled at the scene.

Members of the Orlando Fire Department were among the first responders to the incident. When they reached the location, they immediately began to examine the pedestrian in the hopes that they would be able to revive them in some way. Despite their best efforts, it proved that the pedestrian had sustained fatal injuries from which they would not recover. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.

Orlando police are now working to identify and locate the driver of the car that struck and killed the pedestrian. Anyone with any information is strongly encouraged to reach out to the authorities.
