Bicyclist Killed During Hit-and-Run Crash in Kissimmee

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on September 20, 2022

Investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol in Osceola County are currently searching for the driver responsible for a deadly hit-and-run collision that claimed the life of a local bicyclist early yesterday morning along E Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in Kissimmee.

Although several specifics surrounding this case are still in the process of being sorted out, preliminary incident reports from the responding troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol state that it was shortly after 6 a.m. on Monday, September 19, 2022, when a bicyclist was riding down E Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in the eastbound direction within the designated bike lane. As they approached the highway’s intersection with Simmons Road, a nearby driver of a Ford F-150 suddenly swerved into the bicycle lane and slammed into the cyclist. The yet-to-be-identified driver of the Ford pickup truck fled the scene of the accident immediately after it occurred.

Authorities with the Florida Highway Patrol and Osceola County emergency response teams were dispatched to the crash site and soon after their arrival, they quickly determined that the bicyclist had suffered severe injuries during the collision and had already passed away. The victim’s personal information is being withheld from the media pending notification to their next of kin.

According to crash evidence retrieved from the scene by the Florida Highway Patrol, officials believe they are looking for a light-colored Ford F-150 with front damage to the passenger’s side of the vehicle.
