Fire on I-4 in Orlando Involving Truck Carrying Frozen Food

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on March 3, 2020

Officers with the Florida Highway Patrol as well as emergency response teams from throughout Orlando and Orange County were on-hand to respond to an incident that took place on Wednesday, February 26th, along heavily trafficked stretch of Interstate 4 within the city of Orlando. According to reports from various news agencies as well as the various emergency response teams that rushed to the scene of the semi-truck accident, the event began sometime close to 9:00 at night on Wednesday, after a collision occurred involving a tractor-trailer that was hauling frozen food through the area.

It is not clear what exactly happened to cause the accident in the first place, and the reports currently do not include any information about the number of vehicles involved or the number of individuals who were inside of these vehicles at the time of the accident. What we know is that the truck hauling the frozen food was traveling down the western lanes of I-4 and drawing near to Conroy Road when something happened to cause their vehicle to catch fire. It was not clear if the fire even resulted from a crash or if it was some sort of malfunction within the car itself that resulted in the blaze. It is possible that the truck was not involved in an accident and that the fire instead broke out while the truck was traveling down the road.

In response to the fire, numerous engines from the Orlando Fire Department rushed from their stations to the scene. The reports indicated that both Engines 10 and 101 were on hand as well Rescue 10 and Tower 10.

Initial reports from the scene stated that no one was injured as a result of the accident. The driver of the truck was therefore able to escape from the flames without suffering any harm to themselves, and any people that might have been involved were able to escape from their vehicles without injury. Due to the large response to the fire it seems that the blaze was somewhat vigorous, making it all the more important to note that not a single person was reportedly injured as a result of the events.
