Six Motorcycle Fatalities During the 2013 Daytona Biketoberfest
For the first time since 2011, there were tragic deaths at Biketoberfest in Daytona Beach. Six individuals died during the 2013 event which ran from Friday October 18 to Sunday October 20th. Biketoberfest is held annually as a gathering for bikers from across the nation, and includes bike shows, concerts, contests and other festivities.

It’s that time of year again, the annual 2013 Biketoberfest is ready to begin at Daytona Beach in Florida. Running from Oct 17th to October 20th, this is the biggest biker fest on the Atlantic coast with plenty of live entertainment, bike shows, tour rides, professional and amateur races, and hundreds of food and apparel vendors. Florida Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Bicycle Accident
Daytona Beach police are looking for the driver of a sports utility vehicle who struck and killed a 22-year-old Daytona Beach woman on Jan. 30. Accident investigators report that the accident occurred at the intersection of International Speedway Boulevard and South Oleander Avenue around 2:15 a.m. The victim was riding her bike westbound in the outside lane of International Speedway Boulevard when she was struck from behind by a Nissan SUV. Police say that the driver of the Nissan made no attempt to stop after colliding with the bicyclist and that the impact threw her from her bicycle. The SUV was last seen heading westbound over the International Speedway Boulevard Bridge.
