Woman Critically Injured in Palm Coast Bicycle Collision
Bailey Anne Cagliuso, 26, of Palm Coast was critically injured on October 21st, when she attempted to exit her driveway on her bicycle. As she pulled onto Felshire Lane just before 7 p.m., she was struck by a southbound car driven by Kiara Hemby, 18, of Orangeburg, S.C., according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Cagliuso was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach with life-threatening injuries, investigators said.
Florida Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Bicycle Accident
Daytona Beach police are looking for the driver of a sports utility vehicle who struck and killed a 22-year-old Daytona Beach woman on Jan. 30. Accident investigators report that the accident occurred at the intersection of International Speedway Boulevard and South Oleander Avenue around 2:15 a.m. The victim was riding her bike westbound in the outside lane of International Speedway Boulevard when she was struck from behind by a Nissan SUV. Police say that the driver of the Nissan made no attempt to stop after colliding with the bicyclist and that the impact threw her from her bicycle. The SUV was last seen heading westbound over the International Speedway Boulevard Bridge.
Suspect in Fatal Florida Bicycle Accident May Have Been Driving While Impaired
Florida Highway Patrol troopers investigating a fatal hit-and-run bicycle accident in Avalon Park say that the 18-year-old man they arrested in connection with the accident was under the influence of synthetic marijuana when he struck and killed the 53-year-old victim. Troopers recently arrested the man on charges of fleeing the scene of a fatal accident, and he was booked into the Orange County Jail after submitting blood for testing at Florida Hospital. They say that the man was under the influence of drugs, possibly synthetic marijuana, when he struck and killed the bicyclist on Avalon Park Boulevard, near Tea Rose Drive.
