The close friends and relatives of a 37-year-old mother of six, who was killed during a tragic pedestrian accident last year, staged a peaceful protest at a local park in Brevard County over the weekend where the alleged drunk driver was participating in an equestrian event.
According to preliminary collision reports from the Florida Highway Patrol operating within Brevard County, a 39-year-old pedestrian was fatally injured late Tuesday evening after two separate vehicles crashed into her while she was standing in the roadway near Atkinson Street and Clearlake Road near the Cocoa city limits.
After a tremendous amount of energy and effort was expended by a community located within Indian Harbor Beach, lawmakers have finally agreed to lower the speed limit along a stretch of State Road A1A as well as install additional warning signs and flashers on the road in order to provide extra safety for pedestrians in the area. The move follows a coordinated effort put forward by the community around a family who lost their 12-year-old daughter in a fatal pedestrian accident after she was struck by a car and killed while attempting to cross the road.
