Publix Announces Bagel Recall for Metal Fragments
Publix grocery stores in Florida have announced that they are voluntarily recalling Thomas, Sara Lee, Weight Watcher and generic brand bagels due to possible contamination with metal fragments. BBU, Inc., the baking company that manufactured the recalled bagels, issued a voluntary recall after learning about the possibility of metal fragments being found in two packages of the bagels. BBU is citing a potentially faulty metal part as the possible source of the fragments.
The recalled bagels have lock tab bag closures with "Best By" dates "JAN 18" to and including "JAN 27." Publix has issued a statement that says that the following products are affected by the recall:

They can cause inflammation and possible infection of the gastrointestinal tract, laceration of the lining of the stomach and intestines and other potentially serious health problems. If you or a member of your family has been injured by contaminated food or another type of defective product, you may be entitled to seek damages to help pay medical expenses and compensate you for lost wages, pain and suffering and other damages.
