Three Separate Accidents on I-95 Cause Major Delays
A series of auto accidents on I-95 on Thursday sent traffic to a crawl and resulted in one fatality according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The first incident occurred around 8 a.m. near the County Road 210 interchange. A pickup truck loaded with construction supplies overturned, scattering nails, screws and other tire-piercing debris across the highway. It is not known at this time what caused the truck to turn over, but crews worked quickly to clear the debris before it caused further accidents.
Repairman Dies in Tragic Elevator Accident in Miami Apartment Building
Anything that seems dangerous or prone to malfunction is commonly referred to as a “death trap.” This is exactly the term apartment dwellers at the Ocean King Apartments in Northern Miami used to describe the rickety elevator in their building. Residents reported that the elevator would often stop on the wrong floor, get stuck in between floors, or that the buttons would not work. Many of them refused to take the elevator altogether and opted for the stairs. Unfortunately for the family of repair man Danilo Perez, 46, the elevator lived up to its reputation, taking Perez’s life in a tragic accident on January 5th.
DeLand Multi-Vehicle Crash Kills One, Injures Three
In the early morning of Sunday, December 27, 2015, a horrific three-vehicle crash led to the death of one person and the severe injury of three others. The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning, at the intersection of Orange Camp Road and Martin Luther King Boulevard in DeLand.
Five People Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on I-95
On December 31, 2015, a 47-year-old man and his three passengers – all family – were killed in a wrong-way crash incident on I-95. The unfortunate New Year’s Eve accident happened in Miami-Dade County in the interstate’s northbound express lane when a young woman drove her truck south toward three northward sedans.
Man Injured in Collision with Patrol Car in Panama City
A Panama City Police officer is being cited for "following too closely" by the Florida Highway Patrol after a wreck on the afternoon of Monday, January 4th. It happened about 4:15 p.m. near the intersection of 18th street and Danford Avenue in Panama City.
Motorcyclist Killed in Crash Near Altamonte Springs
On the evening of Saturday, December 26th, 2015, an Apopka man was killed after his motorcycle crashed into two cars, one after the other. The incident, which took place on State Road 436 near Altamonte Springs, occurred around 6:30 pm.
Jacksonville Woman Killed in Crash on I-295
In an unfortunate auto accident on the evening of Sunday, December 27th, 2015, a young woman was killed on I-295 near Alta Drive. The driver, 21-year-old Jacksonville resident Madisson Russell, was in the left lane of the highway when her vehicle veered to the left and went off the road. Russell then appeared to have attempted to return to the left lane, over-corrected, and continued through the right lane and off the highway again, where her car eventually hit a tree.
A Young Man Dead, Father Critically Injured After ATV Crash in Rural Clay County
The young man who was with his 51-year-old father on the night of Tuesday, January 1st, when their ATV was struck by a pickup truck has died, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers said 17-year-old Kameron Clark and his father Thomas Clark were on a Honda four-wheeler that was stopped on the road south of Watkins Road just before 9 p.m. due to a previous minor accident they were involved in, when they were struck by a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.
Port Tampa Bay Man Killed in Sulfur Pile Collapse
A tragic accident at a construction site in Port Tampa Bay on Friday January 15th trapped a worker inside of a front-end loader. Joe Lammlein, a worker at Gulf Coast Equipment, was attempting to move a scoop of yellow sulfur when the entire 30-foot mound shifted and fell in an avalanche onto the loader he was operating.
Lecanto Pursuit Suspect Crashes into Four Cars at McDonalds Drive-Thru
Customers at a Lecanto McDonald’s got quite the scare on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 29th when a police chase ended with the suspect smashing his vehicle into four cars in line at the restaurant’s drive-thru.
