Teavana Recalls 14oz Flip Tumblers Due To Burn Hazard
The popular retail chain Teavana issued a recall earlier this month that affects all of their 14oz flip tumblers. These tumblers, an appealing way to infuse and drink tea, are fairly simple devices that are simultaneously very clever in construction. The tea is placed in the cap of the tumbler and then water added to the body. When the tumbler is inverted, the water pours into the chamber with the tea via a series of small holes that allow water to move freely between the two compartments but prevent the tea from leaving the cap. This way, the tea can be steeped for as long as the consumer wishes. When the tea is finished, all the user needs to do is flip the tumbler the other way and the water drains back into the main chamber, leaving the tea in the cap.
