4-Year-Old Killed by Falling TV in Orange County
On Tuesday night, May 8th, a 4-year-old boy was sitting or lying down in front of a television inside of an Orange County home. Shortly before 2:00 in the morning, the stepfather to the young boy, heard a loud crack coming from the living room, where the television and the child were. According to the official report from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the stepfather, who was in his bedroom at the time, rushed out of bed and into the living room. There, the man found that the television had fallen off of its stand or the wall and onto the boy.
Construction Worker Dies in Orange City After Being Trapped Beneath Paver
On Tuesday, May 1st, a 72-year-old man was operating a paving machine at a construction site when something happened to cause him to fall from the vehicle. According to reports from police within Volusia County, the location of the incident is the future home of a medical complex that will stand along Harley Strickland Boulevard and service people in Volusia County and the surrounding area.
One Dead After Rear-End Collision in Brevard County
A 19-year-old Fort Lauderdale resident was behind the wheel of a Honda Civic on Saturday, April 21st, when he momentarily lost control of his car. A report from the Florida Highway Patrol at work in Brevard County indicates that the incident took place on Interstate 95, shortly before or after 4:15 in the morning. The 18-year-old was joined in their vehicle by a 21-year-old from Copper City. It is not known where the two people were coming from nor towards where they were headed, but we do know that before they could get there the driver of the civic swerved out of the southbound lane and onto the right shoulder.
One Dead After Single-Car Crash With Tree in Orlando
A Thursday morning collision between a car and a tree in Orlando resulted in the death of at least one person on April 26th. Initial reports from the Orlando Police Department indicated that the incident, which only involved one car, happened along the 5900 block of Bent Pine Drive, close to where this road intersects with Semoran Boulevard.
Many Hospitalized after 15 Cars Crash in Orange County Fog
Two collisions, one of them involving 15 different vehicles, on State Road 520 in Orange County this past Thursday resulted in the injury of eight people and the beginning of a rigorous series of investigations by the Florida Highway Patrol. According to the reports so far, the first crash took place on State Road 520, close to Nova Road and the county line separating Orange County from Brevard County.
Collision Between LYNX Bus and Pickup Results in Injuries
A collision between a pickup truck and a LYNX bus resulted in numerous injuries in Orlando this past Tuesday night. Reports from the scene of the incident as well as reports from the Orlando Police Department indicate that the collision took place along West Michigan Street, close to the intersection of this road and Orange Blossom Trail.
Orlando Area Bicyclist Killed in Car Accident
A Palm Bay 52-year-old female was killed while riding her bicycle early Wednesday morning. According to the Palm Bay Police Department, the accident happened around 6:20 am. As the cyclist was crossing Palm Bay Road at the intersection with Culver Drive, she was hit by a pickup truck traveling east. The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was not hurt and remained on the scene until police arrived. The investigation is ongoing.
Mother and Daughter Die in Crash with Truck in Orlando
The Florida Highway Patrol is in the process of investigating a collision that took place early on Tuesday night and resulted in the death of two individuals—including an 8-year-old—after the car they were in crashed into the back of a dump truck in Orange County. Details from the crash have made their way from the official statements from FHP spokesperson Sgt. Kim Montes into various news reports, and we now know most of the details surrounding the incident.
UFC Student Struck and Killed by Car in Seminole County
On Wednesday, close to 9:00 in the evening, a 21-year-old student of the University of Central Florida was out taking his traditional evening run when he was struck by a 2003 Toyota and killed. The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the emergency call and released the initial reports on the incident. From their statements, we know that the collision between the Toyota and the young man happened along Alafaya Trail, close to where it crosses Carrigan Avenue, and near to the city of Oviedo.
Wrong Way Accident in Orlando Leaves One Dead
An Orlando area driver was killed after traveling the wrong way on Interstate 95. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the accident happened early Monday morning, around 2:15. The driver was driving their 2006 Chevy Cobalt northbound in the inside southbound lanes of I-95 when it hit a southbound 2005 Hyundai Tucson. The accident happened near the Palm Coast Parkway.
