Three Injured in Crash Between Airboats in West Cocoa
A collision on Thursday, January 10th, inside of West Cocoa left numerous people in the hospital while units working with the Brevard County Fire Rescue were engaged in cleaning up and investigating the incident. Early reports suggest that the airboat accident took place close to the Lone Cabbage Fish Camp which is located along a stretch of the St. Johns River that parallels State Road 520.
Boat Crash in Melbourne Results in Injury
A boating accident that happened on Melbourne’s Lake Washington on Sunday, January 6th, resulted in one individual suffering from a leg injury. Reports from Florida Today indicate that it was sometime around 2:30 in the afternoon when the incident took place. The precise location of the incident is not currently clear, although the news report did state that the 6000 block of Lake Washington Road was perhaps a place of interest as was the boat ramp leading from this road to the lake itself.

A tragic jet ski accident claimed the life of a local teenager this past Sunday afternoon when his personal watercraft crashed into the boat docks on Lake Whitney, a private community nestled in the heart of Windermere, Florida.
Body of Missing Man Found in Lake Okeechobee
Almost two weeks ago, Kayler and his friend, Kisiah, entered a fishing tournament in the town of South Bay. The tournament, which traditionally takes place at Lake Okeechobee and is hosted by the Fishing League Worldwide, attracts scores of people hoping to catch prize-winning angler fish. Kayler and Kisiah set out into the lake using Kisiah’s boat. At the end of the day, after all the other individuals who had competed in the competition were accounted for at the weigh-in spot located at C. Scott Driver Recreational Area, it became apparent that neither Kayler nor Kisiah had returned. A search was launched which included scores of officers with the Clewiston Police Department as well as volunteers using boats to comb the area for the two men.
Airboat Accident Injures Fourteen on Lake Panasoffkee
Emergency response teams and wildlife officials were dispatched to Lake Panasoffkee in Sumter County early Tuesday morning in order to rescue fifteen people aboard an airboat after it suffered a mechanical failure and crashed into a cypress knee that was partially submerged in the water.

Name Released of Man Killed in Florida Boating Accident
On July 4th, several Orlando men were enjoying the sunshine and the spirit of celebration while on a personal watercraft on Lake Butler when their vessel overturned. The accident threw all three men into the water, although all remained alive and well at this time. According to the initial statement about the incident, the boat overturned as the three men were attempting to make a turn in the popular Orange County lake. This reportedly occurred around 7:45 in the evening. While the men were able to ultimately right the watercraft, one of them became submerged for reasons that were not immediately clear. Witnesses to the incident managed to reach the three men and retrieve the sinking man. They pulled him to shore and, after finding him unresponsive, began to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Two Men Disappear in Orlando’s Lake Hiawassee
In the middle of Orlando’s Lake Hiawassee, around 4:00 on Sunday afternoon, an overturned boat was discovered. After the boat was reached and righted by the Orlando Police Department, they discovered a good amount of fishing equipment still inside of the hold. After a lengthy search that included a team of divers from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the authorities were able to uncover a wallet and several personal items that belonged to a man. According to the report, the police search also discovered a truck parked nearby that they believe was used to launch the overturned boat. Furthermore, it is believed that this car belongs to a second man.
Airboat Capsizes along Orange County Line
Last Friday afternoon, an incident in Brevard County landed several people in hospitals, one who was admitted as a trauma alert. According to the official statement from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, several different agencies became involved after an airboat traveling along the St. Johns River crashed and rolled over close to State Road 50, just at the county line of Brevard and Orange Counties. The accident was reported around 1:00 in the afternoon, after which a helicopter from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, members from the Brevard County Fire Rescue service, and the U.S. Coast Guard all began to search the area of the St. Johns river for the capsized boat.
