Kissimmee Man Killed During Motorcycle Accident in Orange County
Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol are currently investigating a deadly auto accident that claimed the life of a 34-year-old motorcyclist early Sunday morning on South Orange Blossom Trail near downtown Orlando.
According to initial reports from the Florida Highway Patrol operating within Orange County, it was close to 1:45 a.m. on January 22, 2023, when a 34-year-old man from Kissimmee was driving his motorcycle in the northbound direction of South Orange Blossom Trail. At this same time, a 38-year-old man, also from Kissimmee, was approaching from the southern direction while driving a Ford Edge sport utility vehicle.
As both vehicles neared the intersection of South Orange Blossom Trail and West Michigan Street, the driver of the SUV attempted to make a left turn onto West Michigan Street. This maneuver positioned the Ford Edge in the direct path of the oncoming motorcyclist, who crashed into the passenger’s side of the SUV.
Shortly after the motorcycle accident occurred, several emergency response teams from Orange County and officers with the Florida Highway Patrol were dispatched to the scene. They arrived at the crash site to find that the 34-year-old motorcyclist had suffered life-ending injuries and passed away. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
The 38-year-old driver of the SUV was unharmed during the accident and remained at the scene after the crash took place.
No further information has been released to the public at this time.
Car, truck, and motorcycle accidents such as these are a far too common occurrence, especially here in the state of Florida, where cities and local communities are constantly facing a high level of traffic congestion from long-distance commuters, out-of-town visitors, and weekend vacationers. Stay alert and arrive alive, fellow Floridians.
