74-Year-Old Dies After Crash Throws Him From Golf Cart in The Villages
The Villages are known for many things. As a popular retirement community, many of the people who move there do so for the weather, the amenities & the politics. Many also move there for a unique feature pertaining to transportation: golf cart lanes. Because of the elderly population’s propensity for traveling within golf carts, The Villages is home to numerous designated golf cart lanes that run throughout the city, a parallel set of roads that enables people who prefer not to climb behind the wheel of a car – but are comfortable with a golf cart – to remain independently mobile.
70-Year-Old Injured in Central Florida Golf Cart Accident
A person driving a golf cart within the Central Florida town of The Villages was hospitalized after an accident in which they were involved towards the beginning of January. Reports from troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol indicated that the driver of the golf cart was a 70-year-old individual who was using the golf cart along the road close to 8:30 on the morning of Tuesday, January 7th. It is not clear where the individual was headed, nor is it known where they were coming from. It does appear as though they were not golfing at the time.
