According to reports from authorities with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, a 46-year-old individual has been apprehended for his alleged connection to a deadly hit-and-run collision that claimed the life of a 21-year-old driver earlier this week.
An investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office into a fatal hit-and-run accident on State Road 60 over the weekend quickly wrapped up as an 18-year-old man from Plant City turned himself in less than ten hours after he allegedly ran over a 48-year-old pedestrian from Tampa.
On the afternoon of December 23rd, a 21-year-old individual was behind the wheel of a Nissan Versa and traveling down the eastern lanes of Interstate 4, close to State Road 550 in Polk County. Inside the car with the 21-year-old were four other individuals, one of whom was the driver’s 3-year-old child.
